Eligibility criteria:

• Within 5 years of a PhD or the highest awarded degree (excluding documented career breaks).
• Proven contributions to the development or application of anaerobic processes.
• Scientific excellence and/or impact across academia, industry, utilities, or policy.
• Active engagement within the IWA or anaerobic digestion community.
• Clear leadership potential and commitment to advancing the field.
• Engagement with stakeholders beyond academia (e.g. industry, public sector, NGOs, communities).

This award recognises sustained and impactful contributions by mid-career professionals in anaerobic digestion and related resource recovery technologies.

Eligibility criteria:

• Within 15 years of a PhD or the highest awarded degree (excluding documented career breaks).
• Proven record of original, innovative, and high-impact contributions.
• Work addressing key challenges (e.g. waste management, renewable energy, circular economy, resource recovery).
• Active involvement in IWA and demonstrated leadership within the community.
• Experience in mentoring and supporting the next generation of professionals.
• Engagement with stakeholders across sectors (industry, government, NGOs, communities).
